Introduced in 1963, the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona was designed for professional racing drivers, allowing precise measurement of average speeds using its chronograph and tachymeter bezel. The reference 16520, produced from 1988 to 2000, marked a pivotal moment in Daytona history as the first automatic Daytona, powered by a heavily modified Zenith El Primero movement.
