In 1977 the first Bulgari Bulgari collection was born, a natural evolution from the Bulgari Roma watch, which successfully led the brand into the world of watchmaking. The original design was deeply linked to the history of the brand and its Roman origins, which draws upon Italian architecture and art. From the geometry of the cylindrical case, which reflects the columns of the monuments of ancient Rome, to the bezel, inspired by the coins in which the emperor’s name was engraved on the outside, leaving the centre free for his portrait.
