The 2017 Panerai Radiomir features a robust 45mm stainless steel cushion-shaped case paired with a rich brown leather strap that accentuates its vintage military-inspired character. Its clean black sandwich dial showcases luminous Arabic numerals and baton indices, along with a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock.
The Radiomir line traces its origins back to the 1930s, when Panerai first developed oversized, highly legible watches for the Italian Royal Navy’s frogmen, utilising radium-based luminous paint (hence the name “Radiomir”). Over decades, the design has been refined while keeping its distinctive cushion case and utilitarian ethos.
